As the Disc Golf Pro Tour Playoffs kick off at the 2024 Discraft's Green Mountain Championship at Smugglers' Notch Resort, the battle at the top of the leaderboard is tight.

Kristin Tattar has won in Vermont the last two years – GMC 2022 and PDGA Pro Worlds 2023 – and finished the opening round forceful to take an early two-stroke lead. Tattar birdied four of the final five and the final three holes to post a 7-under-par round with a score of 1016. She led Brewster Ridge in strokes gained tee-to-green with a 6.34.
Ohn Scoggins started forceful – 4 for 4 – and fought back from bogeys the rest of the match to finish alone in second place with a total of 5 under par. Rebecca Cox and Henna Blomroos will round out the top spot on Friday at Fox Run Meadows, sharing third place with Hailey King and Silva Saarinen at 4 under par.
It's even closer in MPO, and Alden Harris leads the field after a bogey-free round of 11 under par and a score of 1069. Harris was solid in all areas, managing five putts from C2 to secure the lead on the first day.
Directly behind him are Eagle McMahon, Casey White and Evan Smith with 10 strokes under par. McMahon and White also remained bogey-free and Smith had the most strokes of the field with 12 birdies and is therefore in the lead.
A total of 17 players are within three strokes of the leader.
It's tight on the mountain and there are still three laps to complete.
