A shootout from the Lone Star State! The first DGPT+ event of the season did not disappoint. When everything was said and done, Niklas Anttila again attracted the role of the Finnish cowboy, and Holyn Handley survived a duel with the #1 Kristin Lätt for her first victory of the season. The Open in Austin had everything – let yourself be immersed in the action!
MPO summary
Round one
- Adam Hammes continued the trend of the former event winner to take the lead at the next event after the first round. He shot a 12 under 54 in the Sprinkle Valley and grabbed the birdie on the hard 18th to end with Kyle Klein with a tie for first place.
- Klein played Bogey Free Golf and dived on the way to his 12 under par.
- Five players, including Niklas Antila, Matty O 'and Raven Newsom, were under par.
Round two
- Friday was a goal day for MPO, in which six players shoot 10 under par or better. Simon Lizotte shot the heated round at -12, but Niklas Anttila was the charging story of the day. He shot another Bogey Free round to go -11, ended with three straight birdies and did not miss a putt out of the circle. Despite the indictment of last year, Kyle Klein made a -10 round round to bring a lead of four shots into the moving day.
- Gavin Phillips did the highlight role on Friday. He has hole 17 in Sprinkle Valley with a polished. This would not be Phillips's last highlight of the tournament.
Moving day
- The top four did not change after Saturday, but the order did it. Kyle Klein put together a -5 in Harvey Penick, which brought him to -27 and gave him a three -stroke pillow on Sunday.
- Anthony Barela Schoss -6 and moved him to second place, while Gannon Buhr and Anttila took discgolf with -22 third place after 54 holes.
- The story of the day was that Paul McBeth made a scorching heated round -12 round to bring 37 places on the ranking to fifth place. McBeast Birte eight holes on the back nine and stormed from hole 12.
- Phillips did it again, this time it skipped in the 15th hole in Harvey Penick for his second ace of the tournament. Phillips ended the tournament with 11 under par.
Last round
- Ezra Robinson made a brave fee on the last day to grab the 4th place. He shot a 12 under par bogey free round and ended the tournament at -29.
- Antila defended his title and had to carry the cowboy hat again. In the first five holes, he deleted Klein's three clock lead. Antila shot -5 on the front and then survived the electric nine, with the hole after hole being compact. Niklas Eagled Hole 11. He put his upshot on 28 feet and triggered his Adler putt.
- Antila had a 35 footer for victory around 18, but simply missed it. Antilla and Klein went to a playoff, starting with hole 18.
Play out
- After a brief ride from Klein Glätät Antila, a huge ride in the middle of the fairway. Klein's recreational shot brought him to C2, but his following disability offer was missing and hit the right side of the cage. Niklas made the correction and threw his upshot to 20 feet. He drained the putt to win his second victory in a row at the Open in Austin and his first win of the season.
MPO -snack stalls
- Anttila will always be a top candidate and carved the course this weekend, with his form of shot to defend his title.
- Despite the defeat in a playoff, Klein had a great tournament and will break through for a win this season. I could see how he puts one of the next three tournaments down.
- Paul McBeth still has fire and skills. He will get a victory this season.
- Buhr had a dispute until the end and his journey on the last hole was simply boomed.
MPO player to watch the open in Austin
Simon Lizotte, Niklas Antila, Chris Dickerson, Paul McBeth, Ezra Robinson, Isaac Robinson, Gannon Buhr and Anthony Barela.
- The substantial question in this tournament: Will Simon Lizotte Drei-Dorf win another guitar? I think he'll do it. His game was there and despite a hard departure in Austin, he trusts with the success at MCO and can achieve his third victory.
- You cannot count Chris Dickerson, who plays in his home state. He won MCO in 2022 and scored three victories at the 2017-1 event before it became a tournament of the DPT Elite series.
- Niklas, who has achieved a victory, could do something special, Paul was able to shock all fans and end his winning series, the Robinson brothers know how to strike lines in the forest, and Barela and Buhr simply have the talent, favorites in Nashville.
FPO summary
Round one
- In a month in which the slogan “Survive and Advance” emphasizes, this mantra met on the first day on the Sprunge Valley course. Loch 18 got the best out of the field and tank fixed rounds with 780 feet chaos. The Par 5, 18. An average of 7.81, 2.81 over par and top players like Kristin Lätt Card on 11 and Silva Saarinen Nine. Rebecca Cox, Eveliina Salonen and Heidi Laine carded unlikely birdies on the 18th
- Last year's champion Ohn Scoggins took the lead after the first round with a round round with a round of Par 1006. Sarah Hokom (+1), Rebecca Cox (+2) and Valerie Mandujano (+2) rounded off the top three after Thursday.
Round two
- The field fought with different results again on Friday. Rebecca Cox shot one day to move a place for the solo leadership (+3). Valerie Mandujano consistently played on the second day and ended with two over par and a back of Cox. Holyn Handley also shot two and jumped to third place with Silva Saarinen in a tie.
- Kristin Lätt would have shot -3 for the round if she had cardated a single bogey on hole 18. Unfortunately, she took a huge number to end the round and ended with +7 in one day.
Moving day
- The third round shifted to the Harvey Penick course, in which the scores improved dramatically, with eight players on the field under par and Five at TACE. That is eight more under par rounds and four more laps than we saw in the Sprinkle Valley.
- The story of the day was Holyn Handley. She survived two days in the Sprinkle Valley, got into the third round and ignited the -8 shootout to take over the solo lead over Lätt with +3. Handley put together a perfect baking nine on the way to the heated round. Handley was flawless in front of the tee, parked seven of the nine holes on the back of nine and collected her two most distant birdie looks, a 32 footer to 12 and a 27 footer with 17.
Last round
- The stroke swings out the thrilling fight between Lätt and Handley in six of the first seven holes. Kristin's indictment slowed on the back nine and Handley parked the holes 10 and 12 for two of their three birdies on the back nine. Handley shot -1 for the event and knocked on 18 to achieve victory and secure her third DGPT win of her career.
FPO -snack bars
- Every week it is about staying on the hunt and benefit when you are involved, especially if one course is much more hard than the other. Holyn Handley did exactly that. They survived the opening rounds and stayed in it, then used a scorching nine in the third round, which ultimately gave her the victory.
- Every disc golfer has this hole that it simply cannot completely find out. Unfortunately for Kristin that was 18 in Sprinkle Valley. The fact that they were able to record the ranking and take second place after their chances have fallen over 18 days with two consecutive days only shows how forceful it is from a competitor.
- Ohn Scoggins had a great tournament and shot below the level on the last day to take third place. It is only a matter of time before she achieves another victory. She has the skills and shines on the green.
FPO player who can be seen in the open in Austin:
Kristin Airy, Holyn Handley, Ohn Scoggins, Rebecca Cox, Kat Mertsch and Henna Blomroos and Ella Hansen
- Prepare yourself to see either a dominant Kristin victory or another fight between Kristin and Holyn, similar to the opening holes in the last round in Austin. Holyn has the swing and skills, while Kristin wants to return to the circle of the winner and earn her third guitar.
- Henna Blomroos was able to find a way into the argument in the last day, and they never know if their putt is involved, she could take it off.
- Cox became Music City at 10 a.m. last year. After a forceful start to their year, Cox will be given a place on the podium this year.
