Kat Mertsch repeated her best round of the week so far on the celebrated Toboggan Course to move three places into sole control. Mertsch was the only player to score birdies on holes 13 to 17 in FPO on Friday – a robust result that puts her in the lead at the halfway point of the DGPT+ event.
Mertsch showed an outstanding tee shot performance with 72% in C2 in regular time and made 9 out of 9 putts in C1X.
Kristin Tattar followed with a similar round of 8 under par to move into second place alone, one stroke back. First-round leader Ohn Scoggins, who posted an opening round of 9 under par on Thursday, finished Friday at 4 under par and is alone in third place at 13 under par, two strokes behind Mertsch.
Norwegian Anniken Kristiansen Steen completes the top list with a total score of 11 under par and is tied with Hailey King in fourth place.
Gannon Buhr joined the bogey-free club on Friday, playing a robust round of 10 under par, repeating his previous good round of the weekend and moving up nine places to the sole lead.
Buhr birdied nine of the first 10 holes, putting him one stroke behind the 10-under-par round of first-round leader Isaac Robinson, but like Robinson, Buhr faded on the back nine.
Robinson finished Friday's play at 5 under par, leaving him in a tie for second place with Calvin Heimburg, who finished 7 under par after an early double bogey. They are 15 under par, one stroke behind Buhr.
Luke Taylor continued his robust summer with a round of 7 under par to secure first place ahead of the weekend in Michigan.
