Buhr shot 11 under par – a bogey-free performance with a score of 1084, the best round of the weekend so far on the Toboggan – to extend his lead to five strokes heading into Championship Sunday of the DGPT+ event. Buhr has won the last three DGPT+ events in 2024, adding his PDGA Major title at the European Open and an Elite Series title at the Beaver State Fling.
Ricky Wysocki entered the discussion with a round of 9 under par and is five strokes back in second place, tied with Calvin Heimburg. Isaac Robinson completes the top list and the hunt for the best player in the world is on.
Handley set the stage on Saturday with a neat round of 1033 points, moving six spots into sole first place. Handley, who is seeking her third Elite Series win this season, was outstanding in every area of her game, leading the field in fairway strokes, total putt distance (343') and scrambling in windy conditions at Milford.
But their lead is much smaller and the field of participants is much closer together.
Kristin Tattar defended her sole second place and is one stroke back with a total of 18 under par. Kat Mertsch is at 17 under par and Hailey King is at 16 under par. Handley will look to defend the lead in another round on the hills of Kensington MetroPark.
